Two Attorneys Recognized as South Florida's Best Lawyers 2011

Haggard, partners of The Haggard Law Firm, were recently named to the 2011 edition of Best Lawyers®, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.  Andy Haggard was first recognized for this distinguished award in 1995 and Michael Haggard in 2005.

First published in 1983, Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive annual peer-review survey. For the new U.S. edition, more than 24,126 leading attorneys cast more than 2.8 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in the same and related specialties.

Michael A. Haggard Serves as Guest Speaker at ASIS National Security Council Convention

Coral Gables, FL (October 13, 2010) - Michael A. Haggard, partner at Coral Gables-based The Haggard Law Firm, recently spoke on the topic of negligent security at the ASIS National Security Council Convention in Dallas, Texas.  This was his third time speaking at this nationally renowned conference.

Haggard drew from his previous experience sharing details of the Sami Barrak case.  In November 2007, Mr. Haggard received a verdict of $102.7 million, the largest verdict recorded in history for a case of this genre on behalf of a single individual.    Mr. Haggard shared with security professionals how to prevent these incidents from occurring at commercial properties and ultimately deterring legal action. 

Founded in 1955, ASIS is dedicated to increasing the effectiveness and productivity of security professionals by developing educational programs and materials that address broad security interests as well as specific security topics. 

Attorney Douglas McCarron Speaks to Students at Archbishop Curley Notre Dame High School

Coral Gables, FL (October 6, 2010) - Attorney Douglas McCarron spoke to his high school alma mater, Archbishop Curley Notre Dame, about becoming a lawyer.  McCarron shared his experiences since graduation and what led him to become an attorney.  He also told students who are interested in law what they can expect in the future of the legal field. 

Attorney Christopher Marlowe Speaks at National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims

Miami, Florida (September 25, 2010) - Haggard Law Firm attorney Christopher Marlowe was a featured speaker at the 4th annual National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims.  Marlowe joined with families from across Miami-Dade County who came together to remember and memorialize loved ones that died at the hands of someone else and whose lives were taken too soon. 

Violent crime is no stranger in Miami-Dade County.  The purpose of such an event is to raise awareness and promote prevention.  The ceremony included the presentation of a plaque at the remembrance tree, inspirational speakers, a Walk of Peace and a candlelight vigil.

Haggard Law Firm Sponsors PKD Kidney Casino for a Cure

Miami, Florida (September 27, 2010) - The Haggard Law Firm was proud to sponsor the 1st Annual PKD Kidney Casino for a Cure on Friday, September 24.  This incredible event was held at Cafeina Lounge and Art Gallery located in the trendy Wynwood district of Miami. 

The memorable evening featured gaming tables such as roulette, poker, blackjack, craps and more.  The event also included music, food and beverages, as well as a live and silent auction to raise Research Funds for PKD.  All in all, the event raised over $45,000 for PKD research, a disease which partner Michael Haggard has been diagnosed.
