Attorney Michael A. Haggard Inducted as Fellow in International Academy of Trial Lawyers

New York, NY (April 4, 2011) – Michael Haggard, partner at The Haggard Law Firm, was recently inducted as a Fellow into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL). The Academy is recognized as the most prestigious organization of trial lawyers in the world. The induction ceremony took place during the Academy’s 2011 Annual Meeting, which was held at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City. 

The Academy seeks out, identifies, acknowledges and honors those who have achieved a career of excellence through demonstrated skill and ability in jury trials, trials before the court and appellate practice.  Mr. Haggard has been evaluated by his colleagues and the judges in his jurisdiction and has been highly recommended by them as possessing these qualifications and characteristics. Taken into consideration were the many trials he has tried before a jury, three of which resulted in $100+ million verdicts on behalf of his clients.

Membership is by invitation only and is strictly limited to 500 active trial lawyers from the United States and over 100 members from more than 30 countries around the world.  The IATL only invites lawyers who have attained the highest level of advocacy.  A comprehensive screening process identifies the most distinguished members of the trial bar by means of both peer and judicial review.

Chartered in 1954, the Academy’s general purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the Administration of Justice, and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.

Haggard concentrates his trial practice in personal injury litigation specializing in pool drownings, premises liability, negligent security, and wrongful death.  In 2009, Michael Haggard served as President of the Florida Justice Association. Haggard is annually recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer, a Florida Trend Legal Elite Lawyer and one of the Best Lawyers in America. He has also twice been recognized by the Daily Business Review as a Most Effective Lawyer. Haggard earned his bachelors degree from Florida State University and his law degree from the University of Miami.

Michael Haggard Featured as Guest Speaker at Four Events in February

Coral Gables, FL (March 2 ,2011) - Parter Michael Haggard was featured as a guest speaker at four separate engagements this past February again highlighting his status as an expert in his field.

On Friday, February 4, Haggard spoke at the National Association of Legal Investigators Mid-Winter Conference.  He drew upon his legal experience to share with attendees how to investigate a premises liability case and how important a quality investigation is for this law genre. 

The speech was immediately followed by another in Orlando on Monday, February 7.  He was honored to speak to security professionals associated with the ASIS organization.  His speech provided "A Trial Lawyer's Hints for the Security Professional."

On Wednesday, February 16, Haggard spoke at the Coral Gables Bar Association's monthly luncheon.  Located at Flemings Steakhouse, he took the opportunity to share his experiences in dealing with the cross examination of expert witnesses. 

Wrapping up a short but busy month, Haggard spoke at the Florida Justice Association's Annual Workhorse Seminar in Lake Buena Vista. Florida.  More specifically, he addressed the group on the topic "Cross-Examination of the Defense Economist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death Cases."

Mr. Haggard was honored to speak to each of these amazing organizations and have the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people.  He learns from each experience and applies these experiences to his practice of law.

2011 South Florida Legal Guide Recognizes Haggard Law Firm and Attorneys

Attorney Michael Haggard Speaks to Students at University of Miami School of Law

Coral Gables, FL (November 9, 2010) - Attorney Michael Haggard spoke to University of Miami law school students on the topic of "Effective Firm Management."  Haggard was joined by other South Florida attorneys in various areas of practice to share how each was able to establish themselves within the legal community, how to market a firm, how to bring in clients and how to grow and maintain relationships.
