Governor Charlie Crist Appoints William Andrew “Andy” Haggard to Serve on the Florida State University Board of Trustees

Governor Charlie Crist recently announced the appointment of attorney William Andrew “Andy” Haggard to once again serve as a member of the Florida State University Board of Trustees. Haggard, who is also a member of the Orange Bowl Committee, is managing partner of The Haggard Law Firm, P.A.

Haggard was previously on the FSU Board of Trustees from 2002 to 2005, where he served as vice-chairman from 2004 to 2005. Haggard will now serve on the Board of Trustees for a term ending in January 2010.

As a member of the FSU Board of Trustees, Haggard will work with other trustees to improve the academic excellence of Florida State University. Haggard will assist in setting policy and authority for efficient and effective use of university resources and developing a strategic plan for the institution.

Haggard, whom is an alumnus of Florida State University, has demonstrated his dedication to Florida State University in the past and present by serving as chairman of FSU's College of Arts and Sciences Leadership Council and serving as a trustee on the FSU Foundation

Douglas McCarron Joins The Haggard Law Firm

The Haggard Law Firm, P.A. is pleased to announce that Douglas McCarron has joined the firm. McCarron was hired to handle a wide array of firm cases including those involving negligent security, wrongful death and other personal injury cases.

McCarron brings forth more than 10 years of legal experience to the firm. Prior to joining Haggard, Parks, Haggard & Lewis, McCarron was a partner in the firm of Feiler, Leach & McCarron where he was responsible for handling various personal injury cases. Upon graduation from law school, McCarron served as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami-Dade County for four years and was a member of the Career Criminal Unit where he distinguished himself in over 50 trials prosecuting violent crime. McCarron, who is involved in the legal community, serves on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association.

McCarron, a resident of Coral Gables, received his Bachelors of Science degree in 1993 and his Juris Doctorate in 1995, both with Honors from Florida State University.

Wm. Andrew Haggard Elected to Serve on the Orange Bowl Committee

Partner William Andrew Haggard is one of 15 newly elected members of the Orange Bowl Committee and has been selected to serve on the ACC Host Committee for the annual Orange Bowl Game.The Orange Bowl Committee is a not-for-profit, 329-member, all-volunteer organization that exists as a self-sustaining, independent organization supporting and producing activities and events which enhance the image, economy, and culture of South Florida. Among the Orange Bowl Committee core events are the Orange Bowl Festival, FedEx Orange Bowl and World-Class Halftime Show, and the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Basketball Classic.
